Meet Our Staff

Greenbank Preschool is located in the purpose-built nursery hall in Greenbank Church under the leadership of Manager Kyra Okoth. Our experienced staff are committed to quality provision for the individual child.

Our Staff will be glad to talk to you about what your child is learning in the centre, both informally and formally. We recognise the value of working with you to contribute to all that you are already doing to give your child the best possible start in life.

Kyra Okoth
Kyra Okoth – Manager/Headteacher

I knew I wanted to work with children at the age of 16 years when I spent 2 weeks supporting in a reception class as part of a school project. Over 40 years later I am still in the same profession having worked overseas as an Early Years Consultant and Head Teacher/ Manager in Spain, Kenya and the Middle East.

Julie French
Julie French – Deputy Manager

I have worked with children for over 30 years and have been at Greenbank since 2001. I am Deputy Manager and coordinate Numeracy, Admissions, Additional Support Needs, and am a Mentor to staff.

I love to see children blossom in their learning by being inquisitive through discovery and challenge in their play. They are a constant inspiration to me.

Debi Allan – Early Years Practitioner

I work as an Early Years Practitioner at Greenbank Preschool. I am passionate about the natural world and love sharing my knowledge with the children. I enjoy doing yoga with the children where we have lots of fun.

Krisha Macdonald
Krisha Macdonald – Early Years Practitioner

Hi, I’m an Early Years Practitioner at Greenbank Preschool and this year I will be coordinating P.E (physical education) & Wellbeing.

Victoria Melville
Victoria Melville – Early Years Practitioner

I am an EYP and I coordinate the area of ‘loose parts’ play. I am passionate about providing experiences where the children can engage with a sense of wonder and excitement.

Laura Dalgety – Trainee Early Years Practitioner and Lunch Assistant

Hi, my name is Laura and I work as an early years assistant. I have two boys of my own, one of whom attended Greenbank preschool where he flourished during his time here. I am delighted to be part of the team as I have very fond memories of this place.

Kirsten McIlwraith – Early Years Practitioner

I am an Early Years Practitioner here at Greenbank preschool. I endeavour to foster a welcoming, stimulating and safe environment where the children can be curious and develop secure attachments.

Marion Dickie
Marion Dickie – Trainee Early Years Practitioner and Lunch Supervisor

I am a Lunchtime Supervisor. Along with Kirsten, I co-ordinate all aspects of lunch service in preschool. I am passionate about food and nutrition as it relates to children.

I am an early years practitioner and a mother. I love to share in the children’s imaginative, curious and creative journey as they grow and learn.

We are currently recruiting for the position below.

Early Years Practitioner — Vacancy 2026

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to work 24 hours per week over 3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays), during school terms, commencing on 10 August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The current rate of pay is £13.83 per hour.

You must be passionate about working with children, have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, GIRFEC and Realising the Ambition and be aware of the importance of parental participation. You must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents and other agencies. You will be working with a qualified teacher and a team of Early Years Practitioners and Lunchtime Assistants providing quality education for 3–5 year olds.

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is a requirement. PVG scheme membership (or an update check) is required prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
